For all of you Sussex coast types, I have a day long workshop at Curious Project in Eastbourne coming up. Join me for a day of Polaroids and walks by the sea. Here's the blurb:
The workshop will cover a number of techniques, focusing particularly on 'emulsion lifting', a process that works with most old Polaroid film, and the new Impossible Project film. The basic principle is that the layers of the developed photograph are separated and the picture layer can be floated off and 'lifted' onto a new surface. With this technique you can create unique and unusual pieces of work (see right and below for examples).
The day will include a a lesson on optimal camera operation and a photo walk around Eastbourne’s seafront. Worksheets for each activity will be provided, as well as film, cameras, and other materials required for each creative technique.
Rhiannon has a wealth of experience using different cameras, films and techniques; she will be on hand to answer any questions during the workshop and be happy to offer ongoing support and advice long after it has finished.
